"The Devil At Four O'Clock," 1961, Starring Spencer Tracy, Frank Sinatra. Filmed on Maui, the movie is set in
a French Polynesia-like island which has a sudden volcanic eruption, threatening everyone. Tracy plays a priest who turns the hardened criminals into last minute heroes as they save children from certain destruction.
Sinatra and Tracy were not especially friendly during
the filming and the volcano effects not particularly good but local Maui extras and the town of Lahaina do
a nice job of looking tropical and island-like
in a Hawaiiwood sort of way.
