The Disney production team did a great job
researching the look and feel of Hawaii.
They were especially captivated by
Hawaii's sense of "Ohana", (which means "Family",) and Hawaii's Nostalgia, as is
evident by the beautiful watercolor art
backgrounds the animated characters move through. The film exhibits a brilliant
balancing act between the hip and wacky and a sense of family, loyalty and tradition.
"Duke" surf  posters and lots of other
Nostalgic Hawaiiana is everywhere…
Disney artists have done a wonderful job in
capturing the "Hawaii Look" throughout the film.
